I am using version 6.00.31 of event registration plugin. I am new to this plugin, but from the start i have had some troubles. I am now down to two problems:
    1. When people register for an event, the get 2 confirmation emails!?
    2. When people pay for an event, using paypal, the plugin registers 2 identical payments for that person. Paypal only makes one payment, but that payment will appear twice in the “Payments” section on the admin page.

    Can anyone help me here?

Thank you all in advance. ??

We have found that this issue is typically related to a theme. The theme is somehow loading the page twice, thereby creating a double loading of the content.

To test, temporarily change to the default wordpress theme and test a registration.

    Hi there!

I am experiencing precisely the same issue.
I have used this plugin with the same theme before with no issues.
I have changed themes to troubleshoot & the same thing happens.
I’m wondering if it has anything to do with being in Paypal sandbox mode, but again, I hadn’t experienced this before.
Using WordPress 3.8.3, plugin 6.00.31 and Twenty Twelve child theme with minor modifications. (Also tested with other default themes.)
Same behavior independent of browser used.

    I’m really at a loss.

BandittenJacob, did you find any specific resolution?
Did changing themes resolve the issue for you?

Any other possible fixes, avdude?? No other event registration plugins have done what I need them to do, and if necessary I’ll just make the best of it (though the duplicate payment is an issue), but I’m pretty sad about this issue cropping up.

After some digging through old support threads, I found a similar issue. In their case, and mine, it appears that the WordPress SEO plugin was causing the issue. Fortunately I hardly use that plugin, and absolutely rely on this one, so I’ll just leave the former deactivated.

    Thanks!
