    I have no problem using that permalink https://lesterchan.net/wordpress_dev/test-789/.php/print.

    What is the print_link() being generated? If you add a /print at the end of the URL does it work?

    Hello Lester Chan,

    I tried everything the ‘Read Me’ file instructed me to do and whenever I click on the ‘Print This Page’ link, it goes to my custom 404 page instead of a friendly print preview of the page I am attempting to print.

    I also tried what you suggested, which is to “add a /print at the end of the URL”, and it did Not work for me.

    This Only started happening after I updated my website to the latest version of WordPress and also the latest version of the ‘WP-Print’ plugin.

    Please Help Me !

    Try deactivate the plugin and activate the plugin again. Or better still deactivate all other plugins and switch to the default twentyforteen theme to try.

    I am 100% sure the latest version will work with 4.0 because it works on 3 of my own sites https://lesterchan.net/blog/2014/09/05/wordpress-4-0-released/print/

    So I am not too sure why is it happening on your install.

    I have the same problem after plugin update. I am still using WP 3.9.2

    @LesterChan: That didn’t work for me! Instead I restored my website using a backup I had made dated August 23rd 2014, before I had updated the plugin to version 2.54

    Version 2.53 works perfectly fine on my website using the latest version of WordPress 4.0

    I had looked more closely at the issues I encountered and I did noticed;
    whenever the ‘print this page’ link is clicked, my webpage URL got suffixed with ‘\print’ instead of ‘\printpage’

    In version 2.54, the suffix ‘\print’ is redirecting my webpage to my custom 404 webpage instead of displaying the print-friendly version of my webpage.

    In version 2.53, the suffix ‘\printpage’ is successfully displaying the print-friendly version of my webpage.

    Since I am using version 2.53 again on my updated website version 4.0;
    Kindly advise me further on what I should do again please; before I update the plugin to version 2.54 again!!

    For WP-Print 2.54, we make it more efficient, so we use /print/ regardless of whether it is page or post?

    Can you try going to WP-Admin -> Settings -> Permalink and click save changes again? For it to regenerate the permalink

    regenerating the permalink have no effect on my site.

    @LesterChan: I tried selecting the ‘Default’ Permalink Settings instead and click ‘Save Changes’ and it finally worked. I was able to see the print-friendly version of my webpage; the suffix ‘/print/’ was successfully displaying the print-friendly version of my webpage.

    But as soon as I changed back my Permalink Settings to ‘Post Name’ and click ‘Save Changes’ ; the suffix ‘/print/’ started redirecting my webpage to my custom 404 webpage again.

    Kindly advise me on what I should do again please.

    I can’t reproduce this problem on my end.

    I am using “Post Name” on my dev site and it works:

    @LesterChan: Thanks for trying.

    I did some researching and found the solution to my issue. It was posted 3 years ago on a closed topic by @ChrisReynolds.

    This is the link to the solution: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-wp-print-custom-post-types-print?replies=7#post-2081865

    It Works @ecidoryp;

    • You just have to paste the code directly into your template. Also I had to use CSS to get back the printer GIF to display next to the “Print This Page” link again.
