I have been trying to chang the number of thumbs appearing on a page from 25 to 24 or 28. This is accepted on settings but 25 thumbs still appear on the webpage.

Additionally I want to remove the slide show option. Again this is shown as no longer selected in settings but the text still appears on the page to display as a slide show but no slideshow appears.

    Suggestions welcome

  • @adrian33000 You may need to clear some cache. Browser cache, plugin cache if you have one, or image cache by clicking on the button in plugin’s other options.

    Hi Tizz

Thanks for the suggestion but I have already tried doing this and still no success. It is almost as if no changes I make in Gallery Settings are effective as far as the display on the website is concerned

@adrian33000 – A link to your web site may help to provide some clues, especially to the gallery you are having trouble changing the settings for.

    Thanks!

Hi the website and page on which the gallery is displayed is https://www.allurefloraldesign.net/view-our-works/

I did carry out the check for compatability witht he theme and there are no problems with that. I have also used this plugin on other sites using the same theme and not encountered similar problems.

    Thanks

@adrian33000 – Is there a reason you are not updating to the current version of WordPress? It should not affect things, but it would eliminate that possibility all the same.

    Thanks!

No actual reason other than not having had the time to do so.

@adrian33000 – I would suggest updating to WordPress 3.8.1 just to clear that possibility … and also due to its automated update routines so future major version will simply just updated on your site without your attention (be default, you can still turn that option off in core).

    Thanks!

I have now updated to WP 3.8.1 but no change to the way the thumbs are being displayed or the link to the slide show which I do not want and did not work anyway.

I tried resetting to defaults whcu altered the settings but made no change to the way the thumbs displayed.

Any other suggstions welcome. I am wondering if I should download a version and upload via FTP and overwrite the current installed version. I did update it before making changes so really it should be fully ip to date.

@adrian33000 I see in your page source that you have selected 25 images per page and also I see “show slideshow link” with value 1 that means “yes”.
Have you checked in your page editor via ATP function? You if have those values selected there, they overwrite the general ones.

Hi Tizz Thanks for the ideas above. It gave me a clue where to look further. My client for whom I work on this site has a habit of doing thngs herself and it seems that on ths page she had included some weird code instead of the correct shortcode. This was clearly blocking the instructions from settings. Once I removed that and added the normal shortcode it now displays the correct number of images although the slide show text still appears even when deselected in settings. So part of the problem resolved at least.

@adrian33000 I still see “show slideshow link” 1, so it comes from somewhere. Can you post here that shortcode?

Ah! Ok it has gone now. I think the reset I did put the link back whereas before I had removed so all seems correct now.
