I installed WordPress 3.8.1 Cherryframework theme and began customizing the theme when I learned that there is no feature for adding pluggins.
    UGGGGGH!

    Why is this?
I have my site hosted by TMD hosting under the domain globalmanagementalliane.com

    Please help….

    I am distraught!

If that is true then consider throwing that theme in the bin. I know it’s not the answer you want to hear, but we only support the themes on www.ads-software.com, we can’t recommend much else

does that also happen if you temporarily activate the default theme Twenty Fourteen?

your theme might be prohibiting the installation of further plugins; there are several already activated (including ‘contact form 7’) but those might have come with the theme (?).

please contact the theme’s developer for support.

I have worked with the Cherry Framework a few times and I never had trouble installing plugins. In fact, Cherry requires you to install a few (@alchymyth indeed Contact Form 7 is one of them).

Maybe you have another plugin installed that keeps you from adding more plugins? Or do you have a child theme (using Cherry as it’s parent) activated?

    Thanks for the responses.

I tried installing a plugin manually via FTP and found that works. I was a little disappointed that the “add new” feature was not available as well as the ability to search pluggins, but at least I can get the functionality I need now.

Not too abreast of how parent and child themes work, though I know they are advantageous. Listed in THEMES is my Cherry 3.1 theme which is active and also there is the business theme 43180.

I think my host (TMD) installed the 43180 theme as a child of Cherry if that is possible. Because when I activated 43180 none of the customizations I had done were there. So I switched back to Cherry and all was well.

Anyway learned a thing or two.

Can anyone help me please – I have successfully uploaded cherry frame work to my WordPress site but when trying to upload the theme it keeps crashing. So I am trying to upload the theme through my FTP server which I have done before. I have unzipped the file, but when I upload it won’t upload the whole unzipped file – it wants me to select individual files – am I doing something wrong?
