Old programmer new to this and baffled trying to edit a page

    Look into WAMP – Windows/Apache/MySQL/PHP. Or, find a hosting service with everything built in. There are several pretty good free ones.

    Thank you very much for your help “webbrewers”. I am somewhat ashamed to say that I had not tried to log in to the sample website from the hosting server, as I assumed that that was just part of the sample to log in in to comment on the site! Doh!

    I will now be able to proceed and install a WAMP setup on my machine and experiment there.

    You have no idea how relieved I am, thanks again.

    I needed to log in to the sample web page from the hosting server to proceed.
