Website speed suddenly dropped

Try a plugin called Better Delete Revision I used it on my site and increased the speed dramatically

Does that delete post and page revisions? I’ve already got it set to no more than 5 revisions.

If you look on your Home Page, under Knowledge is Free, you’ll see some of the images are missing from the slideshow due to a TimThumb script error. That may be having an impact on your site’s performance.

The post carousel? No, those posts don’t have images associated. (They used to but we deleted them.)

Enable GZIP Compression
Use a plugin like smush.it to compress Images
Cache static files in the users browser.
Minify CSS and Javascript,Reduce the number of HTTP requests.

You can use some cache Plugin.

yes maybe, but the homepage still shows the blog element with imags and its trying to load images that are not there, thus slows down page load time
