Main Page Displays But Not Specific Entries

    I’m not sure how this happened or how to fix it. Sometime this weekend…I noticed my site was getting ridiculously low traffic fromw what I’m used to. Come to find out..it’s because the entries aren’t loading.

    It works perfectly fine. But if you click on the permalink’s to any of the entries…you get an error page that says:

    The requested URL [and then whatever the page slut is] was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    The only thing that I can think of that could’ve messed things up is that I created a back-up file Friday night—but I don’t get why that would make my entries screw up.

    Anyone know how to fix it?

  • Check your htaccess file and your permalink settings.

    The htaccess file is the one that’s in public_html folder right? I just checked it and change the permissions to 777 and I still have the same problem

    If it is 777 now, then go and check (eventually re-save) the permalink settings.

    In case it still doesn’t work – ask your host whether they changed something on the server (upgrade, new settings etc.) recently.

    What do I do to the permalink settings?

    What did you do when you set it up firts time? ??

    Actually, it seems to be working now!
    (though a bit slow for my patience…)

    Yeah, it’s really slow for some reason–I think it’s the server. Which is why I’m trying to switch servers which is probably why stuff got messed up.

    Anyway..thanks for helping me
