How to install wordpress on a new host while site is live

    Hi,
    I need to redesign an HTML site which is already live and also the new site must be setup on a new host. And i need to do this without changing the DNS.
    In this situation how can i install wordpress on new host to redesign a site which is already live?
    What could be the possible options of doing so without changing the DNS. Thanks

  • The way that I would do this is to modify the hosts file on my PC to point that domain name to the new hosting servers IP address. This will force your PC to look at the new server while you;re developing, but everyone else will see the existing site as they don’t know about the new site. When it’s done you can change over the DNS settings and the new site will be shown.

    Like I said… Edit the hosts file on your PC. There’s a whole heap of info out there if you look for it. ??

    ok perfect, i was able to change the host file on my pc and now i able to see the new site in my browser and completed the WP installation. Thanks
