Since 1.5.2 custom title messed up

As beeing asked here, a new topic, so:

since 1.5.2 (and still in 1.5.2.5): %%cf_<custom-field-name>%% doesn’t fully work – it doesn’t read the custom field anymore but just “%%cf_<custom-field-name>%%” on every page. At least in the “page edit – SEO Box preview” as well as “All pages”. Yet the variable works viewing the website.

What i just discovered does not work anymore on the website is the default %%sep%% – i got wp_title( '& # 124;', true, 'right' ); (without space at $sep parameter – here just cause even code displays the unicode as symbol) in theme so “|” and if deactivate the override of titles by SEO it looks OK, but if i activate it i get “-” instead.
