Twenty Fourteen search bar

Hello,
How to remove the bar which is under the header section (with the search icon) in Twenty Fourteen? I have read and tried various solutions. Search icon disappeared but the bar remained. This bother me because I have fixed widgets and when we descend down the page, the search bar covers part of my categories. Any suggestions?
