I have a white screen on my calendar page. The calendar page should be here: https://beta.collegiatememphis.org/calendar/

I am a brand new Timely user, and am really excited about it. I had tried to install it via the WordPress plugins database as the Youtube overview video had instructed, but then realized I needed to do the manual plugin install with 1.10.11 from your website. The installation worked and importing events from an .ics feed worked (I can see them in “All Events” in the WP admin area), however visiting the auto-created calendar page shows a blank white screen.

I tried the suggestion here with the themes-ai1ecb copy and clicking save in “Theme Options”, but that did not solve the issue.

    Thoughts?

  • Hello,

Can you please try thr following if that helps:

FTP your site, and go to Wp-content -> plugins -> All in one calendar -> all-in-one-calendar.php and delete the following code at line 160
    unset( $plugins->active[ array_search( $basename, $plugins->active ) ] );

    Take Care

I had a similar issues. Advices given here:
    https://support.time.ly/500-server-error-when-sorting-calendar-cat-tags-etc-for-unlogged-in-users/
    or here:
    https://support.time.ly/calendar-page-caching-breaks-the-super-widget-for-non-logged-in-user/
    did not help.
I am just wondering how many manual fixes this plugin needs. I wish, it would just work like a charm…. The calendar looks great actually…
But this advice here (deleting a line) did do the trick.
Let’s see how long it lasts without discovering the next hickup…
    ??

    Hello,

In order to diagnose why this is happening can you please do the following :

    1. Confirm that you are using the latest version of the Ai1EC (v2.0.4) – If not, please do a manual upgrade: https://support.time.ly/manually-upgrading-the-calendar/

    2. Check to see if you are experiencing a theme or plugin conflict: https://support.time.ly/do-i-have-a-theme-or-plugin-conflict/

Please let me know how this goes.

    Thanks

    Hi Jashan,
thanks for your reply. – Oh (no!), a new version of the calendar Standard version (2.0.4) came out. Do you think, it will properly upgrade from 1.10.11 (by doing a manual upgrade) given that I had to manually delete “line 160” described above?
Also there is a new WP version 3.8.2. I hope, compatibility is given… (Actually I cannot download the version 2.0.4: I am directed to https://time.ly/pricing/ after checkout, but then the free version just links back to the very same page…. I’ll come back later…)

    Hello Sukado,

You can do a manual upgrade from 1.10.11, if if you deleted the code on line 160.

    Thanks

Thanks for the info. I tried it according to the instructions.
The only thing I did after the deactivation & uninstall of the calendar was to update wordpress to 3.8.2. After uploading the zip file, wordpress asks for the login to the FTP server, but then produces an connection error and the whole wordpress site is down (frontend = blank, back end only producing these connections errors and if you click “continue” the screen goes blank as well). I will restore the backup and avoid updating wordpress. (I’ll do it after a successful install of the calendar, I hope….)

    Hello Sukudo,

I’m not sure why does it ask for FTP credentials, as it never ask for other users including me. It could mean it can’t directly link to the files, it want to make changes to. That’s the reason it ask for FTP, so that you can direct him to the associated files.
After you enter the FTP login credentials, It throws an error that settings can;t be found, which means there is some error linking to the files. Please check with your host provider and they will be able to help.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Yes indeed, this is the only plugin that behaves like this, and I have installed quite a few of them at some stage. (I have not too many running.) I suspect that the calendar plugin must do something nasty to the site, as the front end becomes blank and the backend is not available anymore. Removing (by FTP) the calendar files in /plugin makes the whole site work again…
If I were asked to bet, I would bet on the plugin to be the cause… I’ll investigate…

    Hello,

When you get asked for FTP credentials, it usually means the permissions of the wordpress directory are different to those of the webserver user.

    Thanks
