Display album name subalbum name in photo upload

Would it be possible to display also higher level album names in the photo upload widget?

I have for instance the following albums

/album1
/album1/sub_a
/album1/sub_b
/album2
/album2/cat_a
/album2/cat_b

The “select album” drop-down list displays album1, sub_a, sub_b, album2, cat_a and cat_b.
Instead I would like to see album1, album1 – sub_a, album2 – sub_b, album2, album2 – cat_a, album2-cat_b in the list.

I understand that with long names and with deeply nested albums this can result in extremely long album names to chose from but it gives a good overview.
Possibly, there could be an option “select the lowest x levels in the album drop-down list” and that we could fill in the x.
x = 1 is the current rule, x = 2 would display the lowest two levels, etc.
