Template change option missing in child theme

In my experience it is not theme related. I had this issue once, had to activate default theme (in this case most likely Twenty Fourteen) and then try to select any page template. After that I reverted back to my theme and since then everything worked normally.

Also try to see if you cannot select template from page edit screen and from general Pages screen where you can do “Quick Edit” and select template there.

Let me know the results.

So…it was what you said…missing Twenty Fourteen Theme.
I have deleted the stock wp themes as I thought they were useless.
I followed your steps and BAM! there’s the templates.
I’m still confused as to why that would happen but hey…it’s fixed ??
