Migrate Site and Keep Counts

  • With the site change, the URL is changing as well? In that case, the share count will be reset.

    The url changes to a staging domain, but upon launch it will go back to the same domain.

    I do need to change some categories, which will change the url to:

    originaldomainname.com/new-category/post-title

    If the new category throws off the count, can I change the permalink structure from:

    originaldomainname.com/category/post-title
    to: originaldomainname.com/post-title
