    Hi,
Would love to know if it’s possible to change/customise the shortcode assigned to each chart created in the plugin.

Really happy with the plugin, as I’ve had to insert AmCharts graphs as HTML snippets up till now and had to manually give each graph unique chart IDs in order to render several on the same page. This plugin looks great for saving me that time but since I manage a number of sites with a great deal of cloning between them, the fact that the AmCharts plugin seems to generate a random shortcode ID for each chart created is a major problem for me when trying to maintain consistency.

Any help much appreciated, thanks for your time ??

    Hi there.

What would be your suggestion? How do you want to “customize” the shortcode?

    Your feed is appreciated.

I would like to be able to change the shortcode tag – or at least the assigned ID number – of the chart snippet. I can’t see a way to do that – any snippet I create is automatically assigned a shortcode link, for example:
    [amcharts id=”106″]
    I would like to be able to customise this link, for example change it to;
    [amcharts id=”0101″]

I know this link simply needs to be pasted into the page where I want the graph to appear and the numbering of the code might not seem very important. Unfortunately though, the application I use these graphs for is to display monthly reports of data for a large number of companies. I have to maintain continuity across all these separate, but homogenous sites.

Every table or graph I create will be assigned a shortcode by me that I know will correspond with the data it contains, and the correct place in the page for it to be displayed, and this method is duplicated across all my sites. They share page structures and coding, and having to go through pasting randomly generated shortcode IDs into their respective places would be way too time consuming and prone to error.

I’m really happy with the plugin, and find it more promising to use for my needs than the current ‘raw html snippets’ plugin that I’ve been using to implement AmCharts into my site, but that plugin (and every other I have used that allows for shortcode ID tag creation) has the facility to customise the tag assigned to each snippet, chart or table.

    Gotcha.

Totally makes sense. Adding this to TODO list.

Stay tuned for the next version. (hoping to release one later this week)

Ace, glad I diddn’t just miss it – thanks for your time, sorry for rambling on so much in what was probably a completely unnecessary manner ?? Will keep my eye on any updates!

    Sure.

Go ahead and update to 1.0.2. It adds the ability to enter a user-friendly slug to be used in shortcodes (shortcuts with ids will still work).

It also adds chart preview button.

    Cheers!
