    Hi!

I am using Search Widget on Showcase Front Page. Just wanted to know If I can have the Search Box on Social Bar instead?

If Not, can I have it Vertical Alignment as Center on the Showcase Front Page?

Because it does not look aligned properly.

You can check it out on my Website – https://www.needforexcel.com

    Cheers!

  • I know some people have put a search into the social bar but it means they had to modify the header.php file (they used a child theme for this). Basically it means customizing it.

Where you have the search right now probably isn’t the right place for it because that is reserved for images, banners, sliders, etc. If you want it there, you will have to do some custom CSS to adjust the padding of the banner area from the theme options Header Image tab.

    Hi!

    Thank you for the revert.

Can you guide me as to which is the best place for the search box?

Secondly, can you somehow help me have the Search Box on the Social Bar, as I’v got no php knowledge what so ever.

    Cheers!

Unfortunately support doesn’t cover showing how to customize the theme. This is something you will have to explore doing if you really want it there because this will require a lot of re-coding that changes the structure of that social bar.

For placement, most people put the search widget into the sidebar, like the demo site shows, but again, if you want it in the social bar area, this is a lot of recoding involved and not something I can easily do a tutorial for without actually doing the complete customization for you.

However, as you mentioned if not, you can adjust the padding of the banner showcase padding from the theme’s options to vertically align the search widget if you want to keep it in the showcase area.

    Thank you for the reply!

I am trying to have the Search bar on the Right Side bar, however I am unable to do it.

I have tried dragging the Widget on the Blog Right Sidebar 7 page Right Side Bar, but even the it does not display where it is displayed on the demo site.. ??

    Please Guide

Looks like you got it displayed in the right sidebar…I just checked out your site. Everything OK now?

    Not really!

If you go to my Home page, that isnt actually a page, but a Post.

If I turn it to a page, none of the Widgets are available to me for some reason.

Unable to figure it out yet.. ??

There are two Right Sidebar positions depending on if it’s a post or page:

    (1) Blog Right Sidebar
    (2) Page Right Sidebar

You want to make sure (confirm) that for pages, you publish widgets in the “page” one and not the blog…and vice versa.

Well I’v got the Widgets in both. I have a screen shot of the same, however I am unable to attach.. ??

Are your pages using the correct page templates? The pages on your site appear to all be using the full width templates (no sidebar on the right).

Currently its set to Default Templates. However, Iv tried it with all available Templates.

    None seem to work :O

If you tried all available page templates, including the Page Right Sidebar one, then something is creating a conflict…more likely a plugin. Would you be ok if I accessed your admin? If so, please contact me with login details here: Contact Me

    I figured out something.

When I create a new page, and determine the Template as Sidebar on the right before hand, it turns out Ok.

You can check the home page now.

However, all the other pages, I cannot get them back to normal..

Not sure I understand what you did…if you make a new page with the right sidebar template, it works, but existing (previous) pages don’t want to work? Definitely something went wrong somewhere if that is the case (perhaps a caching issue?).

    Tried clearing the Cache too.

I am sending you my Admin Login Details on the link you sent above.

I hope it will not be publicly visible

The contact form on my site sends me the email to my inbox…no public eyes.
