Post disappears adding image

    I was adding an image to an existing post. When I clicked save the post entirely disappeared. The image is still available in the admin area. After reading support files I was able to look in the database and it says the file is there, but marked private. I have no idea what to do next (don’t know how to work with the database.)

    I can just re-enter the post (I have the text) but would really like some idea of what happened, and if I can avoid having it happen again.

    Any problem just re-entering the post. And any suggestions?

  • can you not change the post from “private” to Publish within the Write>> Post panel and it will show up?

    The post doesn’t show up ANYWHERE except looking in the database.

    Mystery solved. In my site OurWindowOnNature.com I make all the posts, but both my wife and I create the material. I actually have three log-ins so the posts show up with the name of the actual author (or authors.)

    I don’t know how the post got market “Private”, but the reason I couldn’t see it was being logged in as one of the other two “users.” When I logged in correctly, it was just a matter of unchecking Private.
