• So I don’t play games with destroying my site on the server, I have a test site with a localhost ie xampp. Loaded a fresh copy of wp 3.81. Plan on throwing a backup ie migration there. The plugin to do this is my usual updraft plus premium system. I have to upload that but i get the usual max file size of 2 megs. File is about 2.5. I go into the php.ini file in xampp edit the post max file size to 40M and the upload max file size to 30M since the former has to be larger. Still, I cant upload the plugin. Any suggestions? Thanks to all.

Follow up. I was editing the production and development php.ini. Was reading on stackflow that is an issue with windows. The REAL php.ini is not labelled as such; just “config settings”. I went back and put default values in devel and prod php and changed the actual php.ini regarding post max size and upload max file size and it still won’t upload. Yes, I closed xampp so it would accept changes and restarted it. Everything else is fine with the localhost except THIS. Thanks

I hope this helped others but please disregard. I have never used xampp before. Apparently for it to load the correct settings one has to log out of apache and sql settings than restart.

BTW, IMHO the xampp win interface has a lot to be desired.
