Google Plus always shares Author data

When I, or someone else, shares a post from my blog on Google Plus, it always displays a gravatar icon and author description instead of post thumbnail and post description.
Even though I disabled author archives and checked the option in WordPress SEO to add specific post metadata, it still does the same.
P.S. Sharing on Facebook works perfect.
