Transfer of whole site to new domain – issues

Hi guys,

my issue relates to a transfer from one domain to another in order to duplicate the basic site on the new domain and then make some changes. Basically, I have a Parralax907 template based site at fleetdive.nl and wish to replicate this on my DOTcom site at some stage. Since the .nl site is in Dutch I shall be requiring to make certain changes to text mainly so that this new site is in english. As I have an english older html site on the DOTcom domain now I didn’t want to lose that while I was doing the development so I have decided to use another domain as a workshop – costabravadiving.com .

This is where I have run into immediate issues. I can deal with the wrong permalinks later but right now I seem to have a number of issues with the template and image placements.

What I did was set up the domain for wordpress then perform an export of the .nl site using the “wordpress” option not just plugins etc. I then imported this into the new domain. First thing I noticed was that the theme didn’t carry over so I grabbed the theme from the original site and put that up and activated it. Here is issue number one – the original theme was modified but the new site doesn’t seem to reflect the modifications. Then I noticed some sections were missing like plugins and widgets. I copied and pasted plugins from the original site via FTP and activated them but also cannot find widgets?

I would very much appreciate it if someone could please take a look at the two sites and advise where to begin.
