    Hello,

I like the sharing aspect of this plugin, however in the latest release it seems that you have enabled a new button that when tapped or clicked, pops up a window that says “Choose a Sharing Service” and provides a huge list of social media networks that the user can choose that may not otherwise be listed in the ones we have chosen to be visible.

While this is a cool idea and I wouldn’t mind it, this does not work on Mobile.

If the website is viewed on mobile and someone clicks on this button, the window that appears is not mobile-optimized and the result is that the viewer cannot find a way to close this window at all. It expands the width of the screen and the user has to reload the page just to get out of it. For this reason, I have to deactivate the plugin because I cannot run the risk of visitors running into this annoyance.

I would also suggest to make this universal social media button optional. There is no way to check this on or off in the settings. It is forced upon to the admins.

By the way, this was tested with the iPhone 4 and 5.

Yes, I do have a responsive theme, which means that the mobile user does not see the screen as a whole. I realize that if they did see the screen as whole, that they would probably be able to close it, but given that responsive is very common nowadays, this may be a problem others will encounter.

    Jose

    Hey Jose,
    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Disable the universal sharing button by following the steps mentioned below:
    1. Open “wp-content/plugins/super-socializer/css/front.css” in code editor.
    2. Search following code (line 336)

    .theChampSharingMoreButton { background-position: -96px -32px; width: 32px; height: 32px; }

    3. Replace the code searched above with following:

    .theChampSharingMoreButton { background-position: -96px -32px; width: 32px; height: 32px; display: none }

    4. Save the file back. Replace existing file if prompted.

I agree with Jose, give me the choice like most social plugins do with this feature. Now you want me to alter code, what happens when there is an update?
I am wondering why you are doing all this? Features are great, but options and features are what premium plugin are all about! You have gone and given us lots more features that we may or may not want, but no options. Not a great way to make friends.
We may decide we do not want to play this game.

Thanks for the support lawn dude ??

The Champ–thanks for the fix. I didn’t realize I could just mess with the plugin’s CSS to make this go away.

On a separate note, I like the plugin because I was primarily looking for social login plugin, but I’ve had issues with making login work on FB, Twitter and Instagram.

On Instagram, it seemed to be as simple as following the blog post on your site, which I did. (Mind you I had already created an app client on IG developer’s site before). I added the client, and configured the SS plugin.

When I tried to login via Instagram, it gave me a 404 said the url’s didn’t match. Don’t remember the exact language.

I also don’t like very much how prominently you take credit on the front-end (without the premium). I get you want credit and want to make money, don’t blame you.

I was down to just liking the sharing aspect of this, and then this happened.

    Wish you much success!

I will provide choices for the options in next release.
The basic idea behind not providing choices was to let the website administrator focus on website rather than wasting time in configuring options. I want to keep the plugin simple.
Do not worry about the update. All these changes will be there already in next version.

As I said before, I want to keep the plugin simple. I have seen users overwhelmed and get frustrated by the tons of options. I will consider this aspect too, in next release.

The Champ–thanks for the fix. I didn’t realize I could just mess with the plugin’s CSS to make this go away.

Neither did I when I was developing this feature…:) Software development is all about getting feedback, fixing bugs, improving code. Isn’t it? And this cycle continues forever. Nothing is perfect my friend.
Important thing is – It is fixed now. Cheers

If you provide me your website url, I can look into the issues.

Although, you had already created the app, yet you need to edit that app to match the “Website Url” and other options as mentioned in my blog post OR create a new app.

I also don’t like very much how prominently you take credit on the front-end (without the premium). I get you want credit and want to make money, don’t blame you.

Premium plugins do not take credit because they get paid enough to remove credits. After maintaining the plugin, users and support, don’t you think I deserve this at least. Of course, I also need money and credit to keep things moving…:)

Above all, I am trying to improving this plugin every minute and I respect your time, that’s why I am actively supporting you guys. This is the best you can get from a free plugin.

    Thanks for the response.

With regards to the Instagram app, yes I created a new app for use with this plugin. What I meant was that I already had experience in creating Instagram apps before. It seemed simple enough, but did not work. It would ask me to log in I believe, then once logged into Instagram, it would shoot a 404 with an error.

I can give you the URL but I have since disabled the login feature.

I understand regarding the credits–I agree! Time is money.

I just didn’t like how prominently it shows and with the verbage you chose. I actually thought “The Champ” was cool but don’t really want that displaying on my site. Maybe I’d prefer a name or company or something.

Well, for this you have to wait till I own a company.

Just wanted to comment on this.

To me, “focusing on the website” means having control over how the website is configured, and how it looks, etc. I would like to think that whoever manages a certain website, they like to have that same control, unless you’re making this plugin for trolls. Those exist.

I am a semi-troll, but I like having as much control as I can. Just my opinion.

    Thank you,

    Jose
