more tag problems

  • A few weeks ago the more tag stopped working. Posts do not stop but just go on and email notifications of the posts give the complete post.
    The code is correct in the text editor. The code worked before. It may have happened with the new wordpress update but I was not paying attention at the time

    I mistakenly asked at wordpress.com and they said there was a problem that was resolved, but that since I am not on their support system they cannot help.

    The more tag does not work when I access my webpage using many different devices (PC, Macbook, iPad, Phone) using many different systems (Vista, Windows 7, Android, OS7), and many different browsers (Chrome, Explorer, Safari, Firefox).

    However I have found one Windows 7 system that correctly shows the read more. (And my own Vista system used to show it correctly until a few weeks ago).

    My only hypothesis is that some security update for the operating systems might disable the more instruction set??

    I can live without the more – but it would be nice if it worked.
