Muti-site Sync Capabilities

    Good Afternoon,

    I just installed multi-site for one of my clients. Everything works perfectly. I just needed some additional features and I’m trying to see if multi-site is able to perform these tasks somehow with a plugin.

    I want to:

    (a) Sync comments between the desktop site and the mobile site, and
    (b) Sync WooCommerce Content (customer account information: purchases) between the desktop and mobile site.

    What is this ‘mobile’ site you’re talking about? Are they separate sites on the network?

    In general, no. Separate sites are meant to be separate. Is there a reason they have to be separate sites and not just use a plugin to show a different theme for mobile users?

    I wanted the mobile site to have a similar look and feel to the regular site, but because of the theme settings, things didn’t show up correctly on mobile. This is why I made them two separate sites on multi-site. What would be your opinion on the best way to handle this kind of situation?

    I’m a proponent of a responsive theme that hides aspects as needed for the mobile site. There are SEO implications with a mobile ‘site’ that would have to be considered if you want to stick with that route. Make sure people are redirected, but also let them chose to go back if they want, that sort of thing :/

    I typically discourage search engines from indexing the mobile site, and have all of the SEO on the normal site. Can you suggest any “mobile site” plugins?

    Though keep in mind, your SEO rank DOES get improved if you have a good mobile site.
