• I’ve moved established installations from one server to another using the same database server. While I can use the administrative page and see the home page, all other pages and posts are “The requested URL was not found on this server.” for some reason. Now the wacky thing is I tried installing a new wordpress site and this works fine. I first thought it was something in the httpd.conf, .httaccess, file or directory permissions, but when one site works and the other does not, leads to to suspect the database. Has anyone had similar troubles? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Update to the issue. The new installation and the relocated installations all have:

    Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

    Error 404

I’ve tried to rebuild permalinks without any improvements.

You’ll also need to run a find and replace over your database to replace any old URLs pointing to the old location of your site prior to the move. See https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress

Are you accessing the database from the remote server or localhost ?Since the homepage is working i wonder if it is a database issue. Anyways do post your website link as well.

Editing the httpd.conf AllowOverride directive fixed everything.

    Cool. Nice to hear back.
