Theme Delete/Reinstall

  • So, we bought a theme that can be used across multiple sites, but the licence will only allow one theme to auto-update. The authors instructions tell me, to manually update a theme, activate another random theme, delete the theme I want to update, download and install the newest them version and then reactivate the theme.

    My question is, if I do all that, will it screw up my site? Or will it go back to the way I set it up?

  • Contact the theme seller for support with any themes you have purchased. We can’t support themes or plugins not found in the repositories here.

    But generally, disabling a theme does not lose anything (unless the theme developer coded stuff badly). Your site appearance will change and perhaps some widgets will be disabled, but all your content should be fine.
