blank upgrade.php

  • I am trying to upgrade from 1.2 to the newest version. I’ve saved my wp-config file, extracted the files to the same directory, deleted the old version from the server, and uploaded the new version. I then replaced wp-config-sample with the one saved earlier. When I browse to the install.php page, I get a blank screen: https://www.depts.ttu.edu/agriculturalsciences/casnrnews/wp-admin/upgrade.php

    This is definitely the correct address so I don’t know why I can’t view the page. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Something is wrong with your config file! I get this error message:

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at 129.118.153.80. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Do you have localhost as the server?

    The page was originally blank because some of the files had not actually uploaded. Now I can’t connect to the database so I will talk to my database administrator. Thanks.

    Appears this is resolved. Dumb question, but who marks topics resolved and how?
