I am not using the presentation page, it couldn’t do what I want. I made a custom content-index page that shows the info what I want. (I just added basic static HTML and modified the loop to give me just post from a given category)

I have dropped a widget onto this page (a slider) in the “Above Content Area” widget area. This seems to match up with the cryout_before_content_hook .

Unfortunately, this also puts the slider on every page.

Is there a way to either register a different widget and put it ONLY on my custom index page… or is there a way to remove it easily from the other pages without making additional modifications to the child theme. (I’m trying to make minimal mods)
