Deprecated Akismet functions?

    Hi

    Contact form 7 is working well – it is sending emails and returning the correct response headers. But there is a php error about decprecated Akismet function akismet_http_post and akismet_get_key that stops the return messages from appearing.

    These functions are used in the Akismet.php file in contact 7’s module folder. I could change the functions – but I have the current version of the plugin so I’m thinking something else must be wrong.

    Can anyone help?

    Yeah, actually it’s my mistake, the current version still uses Akismet functions that Akismet 3.0 has marked as deprecated. It will be fixed in the next release of Contact Form 7, but if you are in a hurry, you can download and try the development version.

    Thanks so much. I need to get this working so I will try the development version of the Akismet file. It must be endless work having to keep up with stuff.

    And it worked perfectly!

    Is contact 7 updated with the latest Akismet functions? The only thing it EVER blocks as spam is the viaga-test-123 and even that is ONLY when placed in author name, nowhere else, even when filling in the form with content that 100% akismet blocks as comment spam.
