• I had a WP site I was hosting out of my home running on a Synology NAS. Well, the latest Synology update completely hosed my site and I can no longer connect or log into the website or phpmyadmin. I do still have access to all the files though.

I have exported my database to a .sql fle via command line. (I hope it worked, it seemed to anyway), and I have also copied everything from my old WP installation another machine.

I have a new WP install on a Mac Mini that I’d like to import everything into. What would my best course of action be? Just copy and replace the files in place, and import the .sql file in phpmyadmin?

I do have a concern about permalinks. I really don’t remember how I had them set exactly. I’m also nervous about messing up the new site once I change the permalinks in WP admin as the whole .htaccess is not something I’m super comfortable with.

Any thoughts, guidance, or advice is appreciated.
