Product color selector?

I am working on a website for a client who’s product has a ton of variations. The product can have several design versions. Then each of these variations of the product can come in a large number of colors. I’m looking at least 2,500 variations (this is probably the low end).

I was imagining this would work much like buying t-shirts in different colors on commerce sites. Where there is a large image and small boxes of different colors. Click on a color box and an image of the corresponding color comes up.

I’m trying to find a useful plugin. But the ones I looked at don’t seem to add pictures for different variations.

If it makes a difference this isn’t going to be an actual eCommerce site. It is more for clients to get a visual idea of what the end product will look like.

Are there any plug-ins that will be useful for something like this?
