    This is probably due to a few things:

    1) Adding Google Translate is an outside website tool that requires a connection to Google. Even with no features this would slow down your site.

    2) Images are loaded separately in the plugin – I will be working to make this better in the future.

    3) Coding structure – there are a few places where the coding could be trimmed to make things more efficient, but I would say this is less important than the above 2 items.

    This will take some time, so I will kindly ask your patience until I can update in the next version – most likely 1 month until next update.

    Hi elhafez, I just updated the plugin to 4.0.1. As of now #3 above has been improved.

    I’ll be working on an image sprite for all the flags in the next few updates – not sure when it’s going to happen yet.
