Featured image on custom post type

  • If I add a ‘featured image’ to a custom post type it will be displayed in the archive page but not on the single view.
    In other themes this is working perfectly so there must be a problem in origin.
    Could you please tell me at least at which file I have to look, where the post thumbnail should be inserted to the single view?
