Can't modify my permalinks no matter what I try.

    Can’t modify my permalinks to make pretty links no matter what I try. After making changes, page urls only change to “pretty” links when I’m logged in. They are still “ugly” links when I view the site logged out????

    What I’ve done so far:
    Changed the WP>settings>permalinks to render postlinks. I also added the “IFModule” code to the .htaccess file, recommended at the bottom of the permalinks page and still no changes to the permalinks.

    The URLs on my site still have the “ugly” default WP links. What am I doing wrong???
    I have WP installed in a subfolder not in the root.

    Can someone take a look at my site?
    Please HELP!

    If you’re referring to the menu items, go to the Appearance->Menus page and see if your menus are hardcoded to be the non-pretty links.

    Well, I would say to edit them to be the pretty links.

    Switching to pretty links affects all the links WordPress actually generates, but it doesn’t change hardcoded links you’ve put into menu items yourself. If the pretty links for those pages work, then change the menus to use those instead.

    Have another question though. What about a blog post. I only have a single post that I put up called “Test.”That should also be a pretty link. How do I fix that?

    Never mind my last question. I noticed that the blog post is also working as a pretty link.
