Blocking user agents.

    I had an instance last week where my downloads numbers dramatically jumped to 2000+ in a single day when it normally is just a few hundreds.. I found out that a user agent by the name of ‘AndroidDownloadManager’ was the culprit. My guess is that someone had tried to download my app from their phone and this agent kept re-trying and thus making the download numbers jump. I was wondering if there is a way to block, by either IP or by user agent, after a certain amount of downloads..? for instance, I would have liked to block this IP after it attempted to download the file more that 5 times (lets say) in a period of 10 minutes for instance. This will be use-full in order to stop cases like these.

    Hi,

    Yes, you can block downloads by user agent from the Settings screen under the General tab. However, there is currently a bug in this feature which doesn’t always block the download; an update to address this issue will available by tomorrow.
