Gallery slideshow plugin that supports crop to fit fullscreen?

    I’m looking for one or more slideshow plugins, or “slider” or gallery plugins or any terminology that covers ideally:

    Supporting the core “[gallery]” shortcode, so that I can have “gallery” type posts that WP will recognize and handle as such, and also so that I can automatically generate galleries on user-uploaded content.

    Will be responsive and mobile-friendly. It will show images in fullscreen (not Jetpack Carousel “fullscreen” with padding) with no padding or margins, and any controls overlayed directly on the images.

    If it could also support scale-to-fit, or crop-to-fill or whatchmacallit, it’d be awesome. That is, if a phone user views a 16:9 image in portrait mode, i.e. on a 9:16 viewport, she won’t see a ton of black background and a tiny letterbox of pixels in the center, but rather a cropped image. Here it would be fantastic if the plugin would have dashboard support for the admin to specify allowed and optimal crops, so that one could ensure parts of an image would never be cropped off.

    Does this make sense? Does anyone of you know of any such plugin or plugins? I’m wading through sliders and gallery plugins and slideshow plugins and whatnot, but I’m not getting much closer…

  • Why not find a plugin that is very close to what you want and then customize it to do the additional things that you want? If you are not good with coding then here is a job board where you can post custom coding work job requests: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

    Another option would be to contact either the plugin author of the plugin you choose and request custom work or contact another plugin author to see if they would be available to do the custom work.
