reinstalling WP 3.9

I have been uploading images to my website with the “bulk photo posting” option under photos. After uploading a couple hundred images, I started getting WP error notices about image no writing to disk? A friend suggested I reinstall WP 3.9. I have tried to reinstall WP 3.9 several times with no luck. Can you tell me what the problem is?
