My server was hacked! How do I get into the blog index.php to remove the code?

  • Hello, my server was hacked and all my domains had spyware blasted on them. I have 4 domains which are wordpress blogs and need to remove this code.

    I am not very familar with wordpress and was wondering where inside the admin I could access the whole index file?

  • You will have to check the index.php file in your WP root and also the index.php file of your theme.

    Download, edit, upload.

    Inform your host about the incident.

    And most importantly: do NOT leave any files world writable (=chmod 666), that’s the sure way to invite hackers.
