  • When I had this issue it was traced to my email program which was checking for email too often. The server was seeing this as an attack and blocking my IP, locking me out of email and my sites. My solution was to decrease the frequency of email checks and also my host tech added my IP onto the server firewall whitelist.

There should be a .log file somewhere for login attempts and denys/blocks. It could be either in your root file area, below the public_html level, or in some place your host support should be able to see. This may provide more information about the cause. Maybe you can go back to your host to ask specifically for this log file.

Hello Lorro….your reply is right on the mark…my ISP provider diagnosed the problem yesterday of a server locking me out….and finally the domain provider decided to work on the problem today…it was too many logins with my email address and password…finally tonight I have obtained access. I really appreciate your response…both timely and accurate. Best wishes. I am concerned that domain providers tech support people sometimes are very lazy and just want to get rid of you by passing you along.
