Posts shortcode template which displays full posts

Hi!

First i want to thank your great work!

My problem is that i want to display a full posts in a specific category, not just excerpts as the default template does.
I tried to change this <?php the_excerpt(); ?> to this <?php the_post(); ?> but its not working.

I am new to WordPress, but trying to master it :).
