• Hello. My s2member installation was working fine until some days ago I started receiving complains from paid users. They have the same problem: once they log in, they try to access the premium content and it’s locked. Several users have the same problem: new accounts and even old accounts that were originally working fine.

When I check the profile information of one of the users with problems, all the “s2Member Configuration & Profile Fields” seems OK, except that user access level is wrong! Instead of showing the correct access level, it shows “No role for this site”.

I deactivated most of the plugins and reinstalled s2member, but the problem remains.

  • Maybe you had something in your installation change their roles? I don’t know. s2Member can change the role on demotion when the EOT happens, but to Subscriber (i.e. s2Member Level 0). I understand you ask us because you’re using s2Member and s2 uses roles levels, but it doesn’t seem to be causing your problem.

What I’d suggest is editing their profiles to make them all the correct role again, and monitor if it happens again. If you can filter them in the Users list, then it’d be easy to change them in bulk.

If you have s2Member Pro you can use the users export/import tool. https://www.s2member.com/kb/importing-updating-users/

It may be tricky to troubleshoot this because you can’t just deactivate a plugin and check right after if the problem is gone. So I’m not sure what to suggest to spot what may have caused it…

Is there any way for you to tell when exactly the problem started? Check if you can spot that moment and then go over what changed in your installation (e.g. plugin update).

    I hope that helps. ??
