• I just visited my Title page (where my posts are) and my background image is gone. It is sill my other (introduction) page which I added sometime ago. The image used to be on both pages. My suspicion is that a recent version update to WordPress caused this. When click on to “Pages” on my dashboard and over hoover my cursor over the “Introduction Page” the options “Edit”, “Quick Edit”, Trash” and “View” come up. When I click on “Edit” on the right the image comes up under the title “Featured image”. If I click on the image I get all of the images in my image library to chose from. However, on the “Pages” page, when hoover my cursor over the “Title Page” line, not options come up. How can I get my featured image back on my Title page?

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

Thanks much for trying to help. I’m not sure. I know I used one of the standard WordPress themes which was recommended by iPage for blogs. I’m a real novice. I set the blog up. by the hardest. last Summer and somehow got it working reasonably well. Now this happens and I don’t seem to be able to correct the problem. My URL is cajunscomments.com if that helps

What background image are you referring to? How did you add this to the site?

If you look at the “Introductory Page” on my site, the image in question is the swamp scene at the top of the page. Again my URL is cajunscomments.com. Please note that the same image is no longer on my main page (where my posts are), but they used to be there. I can’t figure out how to put that image back on my main page.

That is a static Page – not a Post – and you have added that image via the featured image functionality, so the image will only be available on that specific page.

Perhaps you need to try Appearance -> Header?

Okay, I figured out how to reset the image using “Appearance”, “Background” “Choose image”. I found the image I had used before (which is identical to one currently on the Introductory page), choose it, and saved the results. The preview looked right. However, when I checked the actual Main Page the image is not coming up at the top of the page. Could it be that WordPress changed the theme somewhat and there is no longer any room for the image at the top of that page?

I figured it out. Thanks much.
