Contact Form 7 not working in Widget

  • Hi. I am using contact form 7 as the form builder tool in my website. My current theme is Sterling. It is doing quite good at the pages. But the problem appeared whenever i tried to add a simple form as Subscribe Us in the footer column of the site. But whenever i insert the shortcode provided me by the plugin, it does not work. It only gives out a default form with much more unnecessary fields. I checked it by giving a random and incorrect id for the form in the widget area. It again gives out the same result. Why is this happening? Can anyone help me?

    To add more information, this is what i want to have in my footer

    <p>Subscribe Us</p>
    <p>Your Email <span class=”required”>*required</span>
    [email* your-email] </p>
    <p>[submit “Subscribe”]</p>

    The shortcode of the form is
    [contact-form-7 id=”3019″ title=”Subscribe Us”]

    Contact Form 7 doesn’t provide the “contact_form_maker_widget” which you are using in the footer widget. I don’t know what it is, though.

    Just insert the [contact-form-7 …] shortcode into a text widget.

    I had the same problem and ended up here. I eventually solved it and thought I’d share the solution.

    The Sterling theme (and some others) have a built-in form builder that will interfere with Contact Form 7’s shortcode when used in widgets. Disable the form builder and shortcodes will work fine.

    Go to Appearance -> Site Options and look for the “Forms” panel. There you can disable the form builder.
