• Hi all

I am confused as to which timezone I should be using in the Scheduled Backup field. I am in Brisbane, Australia timezone (AEST)and my website is hosted by a Hostgator server in the Dallas US (CDT). I have ‘Brisbane’ time set in my WP > General Settings. My web support tech lives in California so I wish to choose a weekly scheduled backup time that it is unlikely either of us would be making site changes (e.g. 4.00am PDT; = 9.00pm AEST; = 11.00am UTC). No matter which of these date/times I put in the scheduled backup field it doesn’t seem to align with any of the others.
I would greatly appreciate some advice of what timezone does WP DB Backup use in the ‘scheduled’ field.

    Cheers
    David

  • It will depend upon your server time zone.

    Thank you.
A strange thing happens though when I enter a date & time into the Scheduled Backup ‘Change’ field… It changes to another time when I press save. It is if I am entering in it in one timezone and it auto calculates to another.
Any suggestion on what is happening?
    Cheers, David.

I am not getting, can you kindly share some snapshot?

Thank you for your continued interest.
I have taken a short video/audio capture of what i am doing which shows the time change after saving. I attempt to save the scheduled backup time as CDT (my host server time in Dallas) though it keeps changing.
    I appreciate your advice.
    Cheers, David

I added the video to my site library and due to my site default page template it cuts some of the screen off. You will have to right-click and select full screen once it begins to play to see full screen… sorry.
