• Hello,

    in 2012 I had a blog at https://streeture.conceptstoprove.net/

It was a self-hosted WordPress site and it was hosted on a friend’s server, but he closed it down and I cannot contact him anymore. Now I cannot reach the page nor log in at www.ads-software.com nor register new at wordpress.com with my old username (cause it says it’s already taken).

I want to use the old username and the free domain [myold].wordpress.com
When I try to register new I get this message: “Sorry, that username already exists! Is [old username ]yours? Log in” But the log in doesn’t work. Please can you help me?

  • To reset your WordPress.com account, try the following instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/

Note that WordPress.com is separate from www.ads-software.com.

I can log into my account at WordPress.COM but not at www.ads-software.com
At www.ads-software.com it says the username is already taken & reserved.

I tried the recovery step by step with this manual:
    “Lost Password

It is very important to keep your passwords secure and to remember them, but there might come a time when you forget a password. Follow these steps if you need to reset a forgotten password. We’ll have you back into your account in no time!

    1) Visit the Lost Password Page

    2) Enter your WordPress.com username or email into the text box and click Get New Password.

    3) We’ll send an email to your Primary Email Address and an SMS to your SMS Number, if you specified one, to help you recover your account.”
The problem is, that the “Need More Help?” button under the field where I can input my username/ mail doesn’t appear. Does it appear at anyone else’s screen?
