Since making the update, the featured images have disappeared from the widget list on my site. https://www.theconmunity.com

I figured there was a new non-default setting I had to select, but I have yet to find it either in the widgets area or the plugin settings. I also figured that maybe I had to add the image into the body of the events post, but that just duplicated the image on the actual event page.

Is this how it’s meant to be? Is there a way I can get the images to display within the widget? Thank you.

    Hi dmk238,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble. Can you confirm that you are running our very latest, version 3.6.1? Have you tried deactivating other plugins to look for a conflict, or switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve?

If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

    Best,
    Leah

Yes, I’m using 3.6.1. It stopped working after 3.6 was installed. It worked fine with my theme, which hasn’t been updated in months, until the plugin updated.

I also tried to view my site with Twenty Twelve with live preview, but the sidebars don’t show up. Same with Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Thirteen. Of course, if I actually change the theme, it tends to wipe out all my sidebars anyway, forcing me to rebuild everything. I’ll give it a shot again late tonight after hours when most people are off the site so that I don’t interrupt usage during the day.

I’m having the same issue after the update images ceased to load, the plugin widget isn’t generating any tags to display event photos.

I’ve tested this on Twenty Thirteen which also didn’t produce images next to the event title generated by the widget.

Is there any information I can provide to help troubleshoot this?

    Hi Leah,
I switched my theme to Twenty Twelve (instead of doing a preview) and the images were still not showing in the widget. This appears to be an issue with the plugin and not the theme I’m using.
I will try to install and implement the plugin on additional test instances of my sites to make absolutely sure it isn’t something else inherent on this particular site.
But I’m considering adding this feature to a client’s site and would prefer to know that the images are working before I do so. I know they want images with each event post to be visible.

    Thank you for your help.

I found this article and was able to get the images to show up again:

    Howdy guys,

In 3.6 we update the events list widget API. This means modification that you have made to that widget, like adding the featured image, will need to be updated. Like mike burt said following that tutorial should fix it for you. More information about the update can be found here: https://tri.be/the-events-calendarpro-3-6-changes-you-should-be-aware-of/

    Thanks for posting!
