Media library issue in 3.9.1 update

  • I have recently updated from 3.8 to 3.9.1

    The media library is now empty, however all the pics are where they should be in the posts

    I checked the backend and see that the images aRE STILL there.

    In the posts themselves, I can’t find the links in the pictures, as they used to be there.

    Most importantly, How do I repopulate my media library so I can see the media files I am using on site ( pics, audio, etc) ?

    Secondly, How can I see the the links in the pics that were embeded into posts.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I have not tied any of that.

    I did try deactivating plugins..OMG what a mess…created all these header warnings with resultant dashboard freeze and site meltdown! etc. ANyways got around it. problem still persists. SO I have reactivated all

    I run Thesis…very uneasy about changing that. Can’t believe that is causing an issue

    Resetting plugins, I am not sure what the go is here..will leave that to last..especially after what happened.

    I will have a go at reloading WP..see what happens!

    RE: Reload of WP

    There is no wp-config.php in wp 3.9.1
    only setup-config.php
    Do I delete that when I upload.

    I can’t see any .htaccess files in the WP 3.9.1 I downloaded
    am I missing something here?

    Well I have reloaded Wp..with a fresh copy after having deleted files
    Problem persists.

    The only thing that remains is resetting of the plugins…..mmm
    I have no inactive plugins.. BTB

    Okay.. Have just reset the plugins as per link provided above.

    Still no change….problem persists.

    The only thing I have not done is changed the theme..As mentioned I am using Thesis….that should not cause problems.

    Any other suggestions as to how I can fix this problem.
