Would you please describe how exactly it isn’t working? Do you just click the “Add Media” button and nothing happens? And, please let us know which SEO plugin (and version of) you’re using.

Also, please let us know which browser (and version of) you’re currently using.

    Dear James

Thanks for your support , Currently I am using Mozilla Firefox 29.0.1
once I tried to click to add media it is not clickable (not opening)
the SEO plugins I am using (all updated to latest version)

    WordPress SEO version 1.5.3.3

then I used to have other SEO plugins from long time they are

    SEO Extended version 1.0.0
    SEO Friendly Images version 2.7.6
SEO Smart Links + version 1.0

Hm, both should indeed work in WordPress 3.9.1 under Firefox 29.0.1.

Do you happen to be using the premium version of that plugin, or just the free one?

Also, please try with all of your Firefox add-ons disabled. It’s entirely possible (as crazy as it may sound) that an ad blocker or no-script extension could think the Add Media button is a threat. It has happened before plenty of times, and the button is of course not a threat. If it works after you disable all add-ons, just re-enable each one one-by-one until you find the cause.

    thanks
I accessed the web site using Google Chrome Version 35.0.1916.114 m
still same problem add media is not opened ????
I don’t know where is the problem even I used to use the website with all features by the same WP version and all plugins before !!!

Can you please try in both Chrome and Firefox will all browser add-ons and extensions temporarily disabled? Does that make any difference?

    (@dralaagad)

I disabled all but nothing changed No differences !!!

Ok, good. Next, try disabling all of your currently active WordPress plugins, and see if that solves the issue.

If it does, reactivate each plugin individually one-by-one until you find the one causing the problem.

I deactivated all plugins and test again the add media

    nothing happened no changes

    (@macmanx)

Ok, and sorry to ask again, but did you try with all browser extensions disabled? That includes ad blockers, script blockers, and anything else of a “security” nature, no exception.

The reason I ask is because this exact problem is almost always caused by a browser extension, and it’s almost always an ad or script blocker, and the simple action of whitelisting your site in the extension almost always fixes it.

I disabled all extensions in both browsers and deactivate all plugins that I have

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Ok, let’s try a different approach then, how exactly is the WordPress SEO plugin “not functioning” for you?

Remember, we’re all text based here, so if you don’t describe it, I don’t know what’s happening. There are many forms of “not functioning.” ??

    Thread Starter dr.alaagad

    (@dralaagad)

the problem seems to be same
    all hyperlinks is not functioning
SEO plugins didn’t appear totally just SEO behind the article in red color and no table for meta description , or any other issue

other plugins like statecounte is working properly
    search indexing
    Facebook promoter
all plugins is working fine except SEO
    and add media

    (@macmanx)

Hm, that really (and I really mean really) sounds like ad/script blocker problem. Are you running any third-party security software outside of the browser, like a Norton suite or something like that? If so, could you try disabling that?

If not, I’m starting to run out of ideas (on account of the fact that what you’re describing I have resolved 100% of the time by whitelisting the site in the ad/script blocker). Maybe try reinstalling the WordPress files next.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

It seems you are sure of the problem and this is very great news for me
let me access the WP admin from other computer and check this way of solving
I’ll work on disabling every thing before start

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Excellent, please let us know how that goes!
