Great plugin, but how do I add it to my theme?

Hi there. This plugin seems to be exactly what I have been looking for :d.
However can someone tell me what code I have to add to my single.php in order to get the table of content to display??? So far I just get my regular page 1,2,3,4.
I tried my current theme and twentyfourteen. Both did not show the ToC.
