Tags are appearing in the email. Getting codes instead if inputted values

  • Hi Guys,

    Everything was working fine on my clients blog (24months), then one day i was receiving emails with the tag codes instead of the user inputted information:
    i.e emails are appearing exactly as they are formatted in the message body area in the form configuration like below:

    Name: [your-name]
    Company: [company]
    Phone: [telephone]

    been using this plugin for years on multiple sites and had no problems, everything is as it should be in the form configuration.

    The only thing that has changed with the site is updates to wp and plugins.
    I’m using wp-smtp.

    Any help much appreciated. thanks in advanced ??

  • It is always possible that Contact Form 7 didn’t install or update correctly on your site. It’s a general problem with WordPress updates due to the unreliability of internet connections.

    Delete the plugin folder at wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/ and install the plugin again.

    I had the same thing happen.
    Renamed the plugin folder to contact-form-7.bak and re-installed the plugin.
    All good now.
