• I am having an issue with my NextGen plugin. When trying to upload images (even one), I receive the “0 images uploaded” message – no errors, and just a yellow caution triangle.

I had this issue once before, and my hosting help desk helped me by having me make sure my themes and plugins were updated – then by deactivating the plugin and again activating it. It finally worked after some effort and monitoring on their side (can’t recall if they needed to do anything on their side).

Can someone help me figure out why this is an issue (again). I don’t want to keep having the same issue again and again.

    Thanks!!

@adkclassic – Did you follow the same procedure you did last time you sorted this issue out?

    – Cais.

I’m actually facing the same issue. I was updating WP to 3.9.1 and at the same time I updated NextGen to 2.0.66

I can create a new Gallery, but I can’t upload any images – neither one or more. The progress indicator jumps also back and forth – it seems to make progress, but than it jumps back from for instance 10% to 4% and so on… After all I also see the yellow caution sign and a error message saying that no images were uploaded.

Thank you very much in advance – your help is very much appreciated!
    Best regards, Olaf

@newyorkpost: It is considered impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread unless you are posting a solution or suggestion. As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

In addition to what I posted above I figured that I can’t paste a NextGen link into one of my posts. It ends up with a error message saying “Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”

    Thanks again, Olaf

Of course I will do and apologize – even if I figured that it seems to be exactly the same issue.

    Will open a new topic.

    All,

Whether acceptable or not – honestly, I am okay with sharing this post… Not sure that makes a difference… so NewYorkPost – you’re okay to participate…

Cais, Yes, I did follow the same protocol as prior to try to resolve this issue… I’m not sure what next steps to follow. I just want my photos to upload like they used to. If you can offer some assistance – I’ll need step by step help… I’m not a “professional” at this…

    thanks, Mary

@adkclassic – That is very generous of you to “share” this post but unfortunately it is not a very helpful method in most cases.

As it is, if you followed the same process as before without success, perhaps a link to your site may offer some clues as to what may be the issue at hand.

    Thanks!

@adkclassic – I’m not seeing all of the expected files in your site’s page source code, are you seeing this issue if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

So here’s what I did Cais. I changed it to twenty twelve – logged out, back in, tried it to upload an image… it didn’t work. I then switched back to landscape and tried it… it worked. Something is going on – and it is “sort of” fixing itself when I deactivate/activate the theme – or in this case, switch out of it and back in. The problem is – I tried this MANY times the other day, without success. I’m not sure why it worked this time, so I am afraid I am not “fixing” anything since I do not know the source issue.

A while ago we had the “your site has been hacked” message on our page when someone went to search for it. I went through the necessary steps with Google and our hosting provider to have it cleaned up – including adding additional security, malware protection and scanning/clean up services. Since then, I have the issue we are discussing. I think it has to do with how/what my provider cleaned up.

Your thoughts – and what should I do going forward. I don’t want this to be a chronic issue.

    Thanks.

@adkclassic – I can absolutely understand you not wanting this to be an ongoing “chronic” issue and it can be very frustrating when it also appears to be an intermittent issue.

Although the premise behind adding security plugins and/or “hardening” a WordPress installation are sound in principle they can also often times create issues if the efforts are over-zealous.

In many case, these precautions are not as necessary as other more procedural methods can be so you might consider your workflow/process for using your site versus continuing to use software blockades as security measures. They can often cause issues with plugins and themes … or both. In this case, there may be something in place but I cannot say if it would be a plugin or some sort of additional server side precautions that were taken.
